Megan is now filming a documentary on her fitness journey, titled Megan Prescott: Dumbbells And Donuts.
The actress has spent ten months working out for the UK Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Bikini-Fitness event in May 2016.
Megan explained in a trailer posted to Vimeo: ‘I’m super into my fitness. I’ve been training in the gym for a few years now, weight training for the last couple. And now I’m really excited to take it to the next level.
‘The idea to compete really came to me a few months after I started weight training. I started realising how much better I felt mentally and physically.
‘Something that started as a “bucket list” idea started to be a general lifestyle for me.

Megan has documented her journey through Instagram to her 65,000 followers and hopes to inspire others
‘You feel better mentally, physically, you feel stronger.’
Megan has been documenting the journey on Instagram using the handle @Megartron, sharing pictures of her ripped abs and muscular physique with her 65,000 followers.
The actress has had many comments praising her figure, with AlexandriaP620 writing: ‘You’re such an inspiration.’
PeteJordanBass posted: ‘If it makes you feel happier and healthier then you keep going and **** the begrudgers, and I’m not just saying that.
‘I think there are a lot of people who hold back on what they want to achieve in life cos they’re afraid of what others will think. That’s no way to live.’

But Megan has also experienced some criticism for her new athletic look with some calling her new figure ‘disgusting’.
Megan posted two images to Instagram of herself flexing her muscles in a crop top.
She posted with the pictured: ‘These photos were taken two days apart, so there is no actual difference in my body between the two.
The only difference is the pose, the amount of clothing and the fact that I am tensing in the first pic. So it’s interesting to see how many misinformed negative comments I got on the posing pic compared to the “pretty” pic on the right.
Megan had some criticism on Instagram for her athletic figure but lots of commenters applauded her for her new way of life
‘It’s sad that in this day and age people (mainly women, which is the most disappointing part) comment on the first pic saying how disgusting I look now and “what have I done with my body?”
‘When those same people like the other pic where I look like a feeble “pretty” little woman. I am training for a competition which means I am eating and exercising a certain way that I do NOT do all year round.’
Megan made her acting debut in an episode of BBC soap doctors in 2008 and has since appeared in Holby City and Silent Witness.
After her role in skins, Megan’s twin Katheryn has since gone on to work in the US and played the lead in teen drama Finding Carter, about a young woman who discovered she had been abducted as a child. The series ran for two seasons but was cancelled this year.
